Can samples be safely handled within a standard BSL-1 laboratory? Biosafety level 1 (BSL-1) applies to laboratory settings in which personnel work with low-risk microbes that pose little to no threat of infection in healthy adults.

Sample Quality

Before our lab team starts processing samples with the High Throughput protocol, a careful quality check (QC) of the cells is performed. Please be aware that samples that do not meet QC requirements will NOT be processed.

Samples fail QC when:

Initial viability prior to fixation is <70%.

Substantial clumping of cells/nuclei is present.

There is insufficient cell/nuclei numbers or concentration for loading the first barcoding plate.

FAQ

How should I store my samples?

Before fixation (fixation is performed in our laboratory): tissue samples should be snapfrozen in liquid nitrogen, cells should be cryopreserved.
After fixation (fixation is performed by customer): please adhere to the instructions provided in the vendor manuals.

How many cells do I need to send per sample?

Ideally, we require a cell or nuclei suspension with at least 100.000 cells or nuclei per sample. Please bear in mind that the minimum input might be higher depending on the required output. If you have any questions about this, please reach out to our team to align.

Can I enrich my sample with FACS sorting?

Yes, before you send us your samples, you can perform FACS sorting to enrich your cell type of interest. Please bear in mind that we need at least 100.000 cells or nuclei per sample. Please bear in mind that this might be higher depending on the required output. If you have any questions about this, please reach out to our team to align.
