We are pleased to announce that as of November 2nd, Jan Willem Wijnands has joined the team as a Junior Data Manager. At Single Cell Discoveries, he will mainly focus on maintaining and improving the data analysis pipeline.
Jan Willem completed this BSc degree in Bioinformatics at the University of Applied Sciences Leiden and his MSc degree in Evolutionary Biology at Leiden University. His Bachelor program taught him various skills such as Python/UNIX programming, Data mining, Genomics and sequencing. During his Master’s program, Jan Willem expanded his analytical skills and obtained knowledge about subjects such as development & evolution, taxonomy and mechanisms of disease.
During his research internships, he mainly worked on the phylogenetics of bacteria, orchids and banded newts at Institute Biology Leiden and Naturalis Biodiversity Center. Jan Willem is looking forward to apply all his knowledge in his function as a Junior Data Manager.
