Janneke, welcome to the team!

We are pleased to announce that as of October 26th, Janneke Hulsen has joined the team as a Data Intern. During her internship at Single Cell Discoveries, she will focus on the set-up of a pipeline for CITE-seq, a single-cell technique in which oligonucleotide-labeled antibodies are used to integrate cellular protein and transcriptome measurements.

Janneke completed two Bachelor’s degrees at Utrecht University: Biomedical Sciences and Philosophy. Her internship at Single Cell Discoveries is part of her Master’s program Infection & Immunity. This Master’s program covers a variety of topics, such as fundamental and clinical immunology, vaccines, immunotherapy, infectious diseases, etc. During this Master’s program Janneke followed a couple of bioinformatics courses, before starting her first project at Single Cell Discoveries.

In her previous internship at UMC Utrecht, Janneke studied the activation pathway of CD4+ T cells by means of flow cytometry, qPCR, and western blot. After developing experimental and analytical skills in the wet lab, she is looking forward to apply her knowledge and interest in bioinformatics in her first bioinformatic project.

We are happy to welcome Janneke to the team!
