We are elated to welcome Virginia Palomares Cabeza, PhD, to our team as our new Scientific Project Manager. In that role, Virginia is responsible for the coordination of timelines, capacity planning, and internal and external communications in complex projects.
She obtained her double doctorate in Immunology and Regenerative Medicine at the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam and the UCD Dublin. She investigated the potential of mesenchymal stromal cells from pediatric sources to transform into bone tissue without negatively activating immune cells.
After that, she worked on multiple projects in parallel as a research scientist at Sanquin (Amsterdam), where she focused on the immune monitoring of T cells in autoimmune diseases. During this time, she also gained experience in project management and scientific writing.
Virginia enjoys spending her free time dancing at the ballet studio, discovering new places and restaurants to visit, and (re-)decorating her apartment.
